The VOC's annual Open House was held March 29, 2008

The afternoon of games, fanciful hat making, school tours, storytelling and refreshments was very successful.  Storyteller Dan Bar-el, co-author of "Alphabetter" (Orca Books, 2006) was on hand to read from his book. "Alphabetter" was selected by the Province of BC as the free book to be distributed for the 2007-2008 Ready, Set, Learn campaign.

The Province of B.C.’s Ready, Set, Learn initiative recognizes that families need positive connections with the school system and community agencies. The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Ministry of Children and Family Development and the Ministry of Health, provide resources to support Ready, Set, Learn.
