Admissions — Tuition/Financial Support

Your child has been diagnosed with a hearing loss. Here's how to take the first steps to helping your child learn to listen and speak…

STEP 1

  • Call the VOC at 604-437-0255
  • Our trained staff will be pleased to talk with you about your child. We have many years of experience working with families with babies, toddlers and young children with hearing loss and are here to help you make the right choices for your child.

STEP 2

  • Tour our school, and meet our Principal and teachers of the deaf and hard-of-hearing.
  • We are here to answer any questions you have.
  • Talk to our on-site paediatric Audiologist and Auditory-Verbal therapist.

STEP 3

  • Let us walk you through the options available to ensure your child receives the best possible early education.
  • We can arrange testing in order to advise on an appropriate hearing device for your child.

Financial Support

The VOC maintains a policy that all deaf and hard-of-hearing children, regardless of  a family's ability to pay fees, may be eligible for access to our programmes.** To make this possible, the VOC conducts fundraising activities throughout the year to secure support for bursaries. Scholarships and bursaries are available for qualifying families including Canadian citizens or landed immigrants and resident non-citizens holding work permits or student visas. Please inquire for further details.

* 100% of the fee is supported through the VOC  Bursary Programme

** Any family requiring financial assistance to attend the VOC may apply for a bursary for up to 100% of the basic tuition fee.
