The Vancouver Oral
Centre for Deaf Children, a centre offering clinical and educational services
to deaf and hard of hearing children from birth through early Primary requires
an Auditory-Verbal Therapist to support a growing AVT programme. Join our team
as a full-time Auditory-Verbal Therapist and work with other highly qualified
staff including AVT, teachers of the deaf and hard of hearing and a paediatric Audiologist.
Sessions take place in a near new 13,000 square foot purpose-build facility and
in the home. Our new Tele-Intervention initiative “A Sound Move” is underway to
bring AVT services to families and infants in remote and Northern communities
using telepractice – a first in
Preferred qualifications include certification as an AV Therapist or AV Educator including Masters (M.A., M.Ed., MSc.). Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing with Masters degree in the field, with appropriate experience, interested in gaining AVT certification are also encouraged to apply. Successful criminal record check and valid driver’s licence are required. Assistance with work visa for non-residents will be provided. Salary is internationally competitive, based on experience/qualifications and includes generous pension and comprehensive benefits package.
