The Vancouver Oral Centre for Deaf Children, requires an Auditory-Verbal Therapist to support a growing AV programme. Join our team as a full-time Auditory-Verbal Therapist and work with other highly qualified staff including AVT, teachers of the deaf and hard of hearing and a paediatric audiologist. Our new TeleHealth initiative is underway to bring AVT services to families and infants in remote and Northern communities using telepractice – a first in North America. This is a Vancouver area-based position however some travel will be required.
Preferred qualifications include certification as an AV Therapist or AV Educator including Masters (M.A., M.Ed., MSc.). Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing with Masters degree in the field, with appropriate experience, interested in gaining AVT certification are also encouraged to apply. Successful criminal record check and valid driver's licence are required. Assistance with work visa for non-residents will be provided. Salary is internationally competitive, based on experience/qualifications and includes generous pension and comprehensive benefits package.

Itinerant Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (Auditory)
Vancouver Oral Centre for Deaf Children seeks a full-time auditory-oral trained itinerant teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing. This is a Metro Vancouver based position commencing for the 2008-2009 school year. Qualification must include Masters level training in auditory-oral deaf education, ability to certify as a teacher in the Province of BC and experience with cochlear implant rehabilitation. Language/achievement testing experience and modified/adapted curriculum knowledge required. Previous teaching experience preferred. Successful criminal record check and valid driver's license are also required. Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications. Pension and comprehensive benefits package offered.
Requirements: M.Ed./M.A. (graduate degree)
Certification- BC Teacher Certification (either Independent School Certification or BC College of Teachers)
